£300m City of London Complex Seeks Bidders
The new Fleet Street project ‘Salisbury Square’ is looking for a main contractor to start the work in 4Q2025 and complete by 2Q2026. The new development for legal services and contain a court, Police headquarters and public spaces.

£700m Regeneration Cash up for grabs by Local Authorities
Part of the UK Government’s ‘Build Back Better’ Scheme, 30 towns have been awarded funds to redevelop and degenerative areas to bring back life and progress to neglected areas.
For example, a new Health Academy and Civil Engineering Institute will be built at Hartlepool as part of their £25m allocation, to bring back more skilled workers and high paying jobs to the area and a Low Carbon ‘Centre of Excellence’ will be built in Hastings.
In total 83 deals have been awarded as part of the £2billion fund.

New award-winning site location technology

The Construction Industry Training Board has announced that the UK Construction industry will require 250,000 new workers by 2025 if the industry continues to expand at the same rate. The record month in May and accelerated recovery after COVID has increased prices and caused shortages in materials and labour already. Private housing and infrastructure are the fastest growing sectors and repair, and maintenance is forecast to grow.
18 Days for Crossrail to Complete Bond Street and Canary Wharf
Trial journeys have been running since May 10, these will be stopped in order for the two stations to be completed. Apparently consisting of a myriad of minor jobs left to do, work on the stations was stopped to allow the trial to run. Apparently, there is still work to do at Paddington and Whitechapel too which may delay the already delayed 2022 scheduled opening. Woolwich and Liverpool Street will be ‘handed over’ to TfL in the next few weeks.
£1.3bn Highways England Contract Open
Bidders can apply for any of 8 regional lots to maintain highways for these surfacing contracts. A formal invitation to tender will open in February 2022.
