Laing O’Rourke decarbonises bids with new carbon calculator

Laing O'Rourke Carbon calculator credit danist soh via unsplash

In January we wrote about Laing O’Rourke banning diesel from its plants. Now, as part of its goal to become net zero by 2050 Laing O’Rourke has developed a carbon calculator system which evaluates how much carbon will be in the sub and super structures. So far it has used the system for 14 bids and says it can reduce emissions by up to 19%. It processes data from the Inventory of Carbon & Energy (ICE) into a real-time dashboard that looks like a heat map which shows areas of greatest potential for carbon reduction. Pretty cool!

Internet Connectivity for New, Temporary and Challenging locations…

🌐 For new, temporary and challenging locations why not consider the EMS i-MO OptiBond solution? Delivers fast / resilient aggregated 4G and / or fixed line services to site in days. The system is widely used on difficult to serve and new commercial and infrastructure projects.  See www.ems-imo.com
