First UK Construction Company to Accept Crypto Currency

Announced last week, Scottish contractor Orocco now accepts Dogecoin, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Stellar and XRP as payment via digital wallet. Crypto is generally widely available for merchants to accept as payment but uptake has been slow. Crypto payments are highly secure and available, and the fees are very low but the wild fluctuations in value (exchange) could be a reason for slow adoption. Generally crypto currencies can be accepted through all the same ways as fiat money – online through your website, face to face eg debit / credit card, and mobile.

New award-winning site location technology

Luckily, technology exists so Construction sites can stay open and take care of their workers with beable® Wearable which has been deployed at a large north London site to keep workers safe and productive; it facilitates physical distancing as well as interaction tracking. Co-developed by Electronic Media Services and COMIT Projects and funded by Innovate UK, the new technology has been well received and plans to rollout to further sites in Q2 this year are underway.
